Aeration

Lawn Care from Landscape Technologies • Boise, Idaho

Over time, simply walking on your yard packs the soil down. Foot traffic, kids playing, mowing, all of it. When that happens, water and fertilizer sit on top instead of soaking in where the roots need it. Aeration pulls small plugs of soil out of the lawn to open things up. It’s hard, physical work and not a fun DIY project.

  • Fall is the best time to aerate because the soil is ready to recover heading into the cooler months.
  • If you have thin or bare spots, that’s also a good time to seed those areas while the ground is open.
  • If you have an invisible dog fence, we’ll work with you to flag the lines before we start so we don’t damage anything with the aerator tools.

  • Specific to The North End Heavy tree root systems contribute to soil compaction and create obstacles for the aeration tools.
